The second web 2.0 tool I will introduce you is Pear Deck!
It is a quite simple add-on tool. It is designed to make teaching interactive. When the teachers lecture from a PPT, they expect all of the students to be active and participate in the lesson, and Pear Deck is a tool that enables this activation and participation. In this respect, it is a very useful tool! It works in coordination with Google Slides, so it can easily work when teachers need to use presentations in their lessons. Pear Deck offers many opportunities for both students and teachers. As a teacher, you can review student responses in real time, insert new prompts, highlight or hide the answers and provide feedback and comments. As a student, you can instantly interact with your friends and teachers, express your thoughts and feelings freely, spot your mistakes instantly, and learn while having fun with entertaining presentations.
Before you can start using this tool, you must sign-up, and then you must add it to Google Slides. It gives you numerous pre-made templates that can be used before, during and after the lesson, such as true-false, multiple choice, text responses, drawing and dragging icon and numerical responses in order to use in presentations. You can use these pre-made templates or you can reorganize them according to your choice. Thus, you can prepare your presentations with the help of Pear Deck and use them in your lessons. If you want to use and guide presentations during the lesson, you can choose the instructor-paced option, and if you give the presentations to students and ask them to study on their own, you can choose the student-paced option. After all these steps, you need to direct the students to joinpd.com and share the code given to you with them. You must wait all students to join the class, and then you can enjoy this nice lesson.
